Buying a soundbar is the easiest and the least expensive method to upgrade your TVs built-in sound.

But capping your soundbar budget at that level will also entail compromises.

A basic 2.1-channel soundbar will split dialogue between its two front-facing speakers.

Dolby Atmos

Soundbars provide two types of Dolby Atmos support: Dolby Atmos and virtual Dolby Atmos.

(TheSonos Beam Gen 2is a good example of a soundbar that uses virtual Atmos processing.)
