SomeGoogle Driveusers have recently been reporting that thecloud storageservice has beendeleting months worth of filesfrom their computers.
I myself have lost files due to this bug and regularly sync my Google Drive app.

Still, its worth trying Googles ideas if you are affected.
The first method requires you to download the latest version of Google Drive.
Once thats been installed, youll need to run Googles recovery tool.
Thatll kick off the recovery process.
You might also see a Not enough disk space message once the tool finishes.
To do this, youll again need to download the latest version of Drive for desktop.
After that, terminate the app and open a command prompt (Windows) or Terminal (macOS).
The tool will run in the background in Windows and in the foreground in macOS.
However, the technique requires you to have either a Windows backup or a Time Machine backup in macOS.
Use the hashtag #DFD84 and tick the checkbox to include diagnostic logs.
I know this issue all too well, as Ive lost files because of it.
One minute theyre in their folder on my computer, the next theyve been deleted.
