However, boss fights are tedious, and the lack of online co-op stings.
Existing series fans can rest assured that theyre getting another quality entry in the Classic Sonic run.
And when decelerating, hell gradually slow down instead of just stopping on a dime.
Thats not the case here, as every level strikes a pleasing balance of speedy sections and carefully-paced platforming.
That tight balance of speed versus platforming doesnt mean that the games stages are one-note, though.

Later on, Golden Capital provides opportunities to earn an abundance of rings by completing small-scale puzzles and challenges.
Thats becauseSonic Superstarscontinues the optional objective of collecting seven Chaos Emeralds to access its true ending.
Most tracks, though, venture to emulate the Mega Drives soundchip.
Sometimes it works, but mostly it falls flat, providing a grating, unappealing sound.
Every character has their own quirk that changes how the game will play, too.
Hopefully, this is something that can be added in via a post-launch update.
Each character also has stages exclusive to them, tailor-made for their style of movement and abilities.
Sonic Superstars manages to land itself in ourbest Sonic gameslist.
